Lawrence A. Strid graduated from California State University in Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1974. He then attended Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, graduating in 1978. He was admitted to the State Bar of California on November 29, 1978, SBN: 83014. He has since been admitted to the following Federal Courts:

1979: Federal Central District Court of California
1982: Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
1984: Federal Northern District of California
1996: United States Supreme Court
1997: Federal Southern District Court of California

Since being admitted to the Bar, he has consistently been in private practice, emphasizing a civil litigation practice, with special emphasis in representing plaintiffs and claimants in personal injury matters and in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in various types of business and commercial litigation.

Lawrence A. Strid has personally represented clients as claimants or plaintiffs in over 3500 personal injury cases, in addition to representing clients in other types of legal matters.

He has demonstrated experience as a trial lawyer, having conducted 41 jury trials to date, 37 to verdict, and mostly on behalf of plaintiffs in personal injury cases. Lawrence A. Strid has also conducted scores of bench trials and over 100 arbitration’s.

He also has considerable appellate experience, having handled at least 10 appeals or writs to date, including one writ of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court.

Lawrence A. Strid was counsel for the appellant in Elene H. v. County of Los Angeles (1990) 220 Cal. App.3d 1445 (on behalf of a plaintiff in a police misconduct case), and was counsel for the respondent in Shin v. Kong (2000) 80 Cal. App. 4th 498 (on behalf of a defendant physician in a medical malpractice/fraud case).

Lawrence A. Strid is on the Orange County Superior Court approved arbitrator panel, and he arbitrates and mediates court referred arbitrations, as well as private arbitrations and mediation. He is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, and the Orange County Bar Association.

Accomplishments would include the following:

* Co-counsel for plaintiffs in the case of Alexander, etc. v. County of Orange (OCSC # 416915), a flood damage case on behalf of a group of homeowners that remains the longest running jury trial in Orange County history (over a year).

* Co-counsel for defendant in Smith v. Smith (OCSC # 675265), which was the first successful defense in a jury trial of a repressed memory case in Orange County.

* Trial counsel for the plaintiff in Marx v. Hertz (LASC # SOC 93482), which resulted in a $1.1 million dollar verdict (net) in a bicycle versus automobile accident involving a catastrophic head injury.

*Co-counsel for plaintiff in Baker v. Rotex (LASC # SWC 72093), a plaintiff products liability case involving a negligently designed “cherry-picker” manlift that caused catastrophic head injuries that settled on a structured basis with multiple defendants for a present value package worth $1,010,000.00.

* Trial counsel for the plaintiff in Twedt v. Tutton Insurance Services (OCSC# 774812), an insurance agent malpractice case that resulted in a $300,000.00 jury verdict.

* Plaintiff’s Counsel in an auto collision case (Orange County Superior Court action # 30- 2015-00826663-CU-PA- CJC), wherein the primary injury was a post-concussion syndrome which rendered the Plaintiff unable to return to work as a high school teacher. The diagnosis was based solely on the Plaintiff’s medical history and subjective complaints. Total settlement three days prior to trial was $1,000,000.00.
